I don't recall how I was introduced to TC. It could have been Testimony of Two Men tv mini series back in the 1970s. I read the book but do not recall if I read it first or saw tv drama first. I recall that CaptsKings seemed to follow me whenever I was in a bookstore; I finally bought and read it -- I was blown away: 800 pages of story to reveal about 30 pages of revelation, and her revelations were jaw dropping true and apparent, ie people vote against their best interests.

I am a retired legal secretary/assistant. I have an extensive personal library; and I am always searching for TC novels. It bothers me that I have trouble finding her books, new or used. It disturbs me greatly that here in California nobody seems to be interested in her works, which are so varied.

My favorite Caldwell moment comes from This Side of Innocence:

Phillip "glided about stumbling dancers on the universal ballroom floor with the serene unconcern that assumes everyone is equallly adept." ... the universal ballroom floor OF LIFE.

I am looking for the title of a TC novella I read ages ago about a farmer during a global plague (mother nature turned against the human parasites). The book I read was not YOUR SINS AND MINE (which I am now reading to prove to myself that this is not the story I read over 25 years ago).

I am pleased to finally find a cadre of folks who also appreciate Taylor Caldwell's oeuvre. It is hard to believe she is now out of fashion. I feel the same way about Thomas B. Costain; he never referenced.

Thank you for this web site.
